How to Deal with this Problem Once and For All

Photo by Rod Long on Unsplash

Another long Internet surfing experience — thirsty, reaching out for the tempting forbidden fruit — eating it, acting on it, and then — despair.

How many times can I confess the same sin? Again and again and again?

And then some of us give up our walk with Jesus Christ.

It’s not possible to be holy with the advanced technology and the explicit media that surrounds us today, they conclude.

But not only is it possible now, it will always be possible, says the Bible.

Revelation 22:11

“Let the sinner continue sinning and the unclean continue to be unclean, let the upright continue in his uprightness and those who are holy continue to be holy.”

So where evil abounds, the grace to conquer that evil also abounds.

But there’s no hope for me — fallen too many times — seen way too much — can never go back — I know it’s wrong but it’s so pleasurable that I’m addicted to it — I haven’t gone for confession in years — you don’t know my real self — if you knew me you wouldn’t give me hope that I don’t deserve.

Bro/sis in Christ — don’t condemn yourself— “For God is love.” (1 John 4:16)

That voice of condemnation and accusation, that’s not God.

That’s the Devil.

If all the world knew that we are in the middle of an epic fantasy war between two warring kingdoms, I wonder how they would behave.

This is more epic and heroic than all of Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, Rick Riordan, and Star Wars combined!

God loves us.

Let’s make use of an analogy here.

Who loves you more — your God or your mother?

If you have sinned — and believe that you can no longer continue the spiritual walk — imagine the love of a mother of her baby.

If the baby poops, does the mother say, “Yuck! Gross!”, and throw the baby into the trash can?

Does she not lovingly pick up her child, clean him/her till no trace of the offending substance remains, and give him new sheets and a fresh diaper?

Child —

That is exactly what the Father does to us when we fall into sins of the flesh.

He picks you up. (gives you hope)

Cleans you. (sends you for confession)

Gives you new clothes. (after penance, you re-enter a state of grace)

And voila!

It is (yet again) as if you had never sinned in the first place.

Do you really think that God loves you less than your mother loves you?

He loves you infinitely more!

Satan Never Stood A Chance

This is why the Devil lost — and will forever continue to lose.

You can fight force with force.

You can end willpower with stronger willpower.

You can increase your armies until your numbers are greater than theirs.

But you cannot fight love.

Love conquers every heart, conquers every soul.

It is impossible to fight the love of God.

You can tune it out, but He is faithful forever.

When we surrender to our God, Satan rages but is powerless.

Jesus Christ is the only Being in the Universe, who after you nail Him to the Cross, will say, ‘I Forgive You Because I Love You.’

I will never forget the first time I felt the Holy Spirit tangibly comfort me after I fell.

It was a hard and bitter fall, giving in to the flesh.

But I went to the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel where Jesus is present in all His Fullness —

And He said:

“You were forgiven before you committed the sin. As long as you keep coming back to Me, I will never leave you.”

So:

Never give up on Him —

Because as long as you live —

He will never give up on you.

Believe it.

Know it.

And rejoice in your victory over your sin.

When you realize that God will always love you— you will not have to struggle against sin in the same way you used to.

He will anoint you with His Holy Spirit.

Gives us mere mortals Joy when we talk to Him.

You will feel His Delight when you choose to do Right.

He will commune with you in Prayer all the time Constantly.

And I look forward to the day when you will go into the Adoration Chapel and understand His implicit message:

“Child, You are Mine forever. I love the Sinner but I hate the Sin.”

And I would just want to leave you with this beautiful Bible verse:

“Peace I give you, My Own Peace I give you, a Peace that the world cannot give, I give unto you.”

(John 14:27)

We are forever in His arms. Never think of giving up. As long as you come back to Him, He will continue to come back to you.

And be wary of your confessors.

I write this with tears — there are priests who deny the biblical values taught by Jesus and His Catholic Church.

Find a compassionate and loving priest — who is obedient and does not subscribe to the philosophy of scrupulousness and convenience.

And strictly follows the teaching of the Church.

There are many of these vipers who will tell you that white is black, black is white, and 50 Shades of Grey are all right.

Find a priest you trust — after prayer.

Who has a good reputation in dealing with the younger generation.

May the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ guide you to a holy confessor who does not deny the values taught by the Catholic Church.

Peace of Christ be yours forever!
